Central Valley Rails to Trails Foundation

BuiltWithNOF

The Central Valley Rails to Trails Foundation has made tremendous progress toward creating the rail trail only through the generous support of donors and volunteers.  The Board of Directors serve on a voluntary basis, and there are no paid staff to run the foundation.

In order for the Foundation to keep the momentum going, more volunteers will be needed as new opportunities for outreach are presented.  Please give your time and expertise, and keep CVRTF informed of events in the community that would give CVRTF volunteers the opportunity to present the rail trail project. Check this page often, as it will have the most current volunteer opportunities for CVRTF supporters. Also, visit the Events page on this web site for more details on each event.

Annual Wilton Round-Up - Saturday, September 27th
Volunteers will be needed to help with the parade on the morning of Sept. 27, as well as cooks and greeters at the TrailFest Chili booth. This event is fun for the whole family including an antique car show, rock climbing for the kids, live music and prize drawings. To volunteer for the Parade, contact Mary Upham at 916.687.6117.  To volunteer for the Chili Cook-off, contact Darlene Hauder at 916.849.9044.

Community Outreach
CVRTF is looking for volunteers to arrange meetings with community groups and homeowner associations in the vicinity of the Central California Traction Rail Corridor. If you are willing to organize an informational program, please contact Elizabeth Mahan.  CVRTF can provide speakers, or talking points.

Thanks to the Teichert Foundation, a lap top computer and projector are now available to use for a power point presentation on the proposed trail. Surveys can be distributed to allow meeting participants a voice in trail amenities and preferred destinations. Help get the word out in your community!

BdWoodbridgeTourVineyard

Members of the CVRTF Board of Directors toured the Woodbridge Winery to learn more about this important asset along the proposed rail trail.

TrailRiders

The California State Horsemen’s Association Equestrian Trail Patrol volunteers have assisted CVRTF during TrailFest and the Wilton Parade.  In this picture, they are taking a ride along the CCTC rail corridor on their way to help stop traffic for the parade. Volunteer trail patrols will be an important asset to trail users and adjoining property owners.

Call CVRTF and tell us how you would like to help create the rail trail!
