Welcome to the
Central Valley Rails to Trails Foundation

The Central Valley Rails to Trails Foundation is dedicated to converting unused rail corridors throughout the Central Valley into trails for local communities to enjoy. 

Our focus has been on 27.5 miles of the historic Central California Traction Rail Company (CCT) Rail Corridor.  Over 100 years ago, the Corridor was built to transport passengers and freight between Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties.  Now the Corridor can continue to serve as a link between the two counties through the creation of a rail trail for non-motorized recreation and alternative commuting.

High Speed Rail Update
A presentation was made at the July 6th CVRTF Board Meeting regarding the status of the High Speed Rail Authority's interest in the CCT Rail Corridor. Local residents interested in learning more about the project are encouraged to visit the High Speed Rail Authority web site at: www. cahighspeedrail.ca.gov.
