Thirteen Years of Service Honored for Douglas Baker

The Central Valley Rails to Trails Board of Directors honored retiring Board Member Douglas Baker at a special dinner held at Brave Horse Winery in Wilton.  Doug Baker has dedicated himself to the Rails To Trails project since the beginning, including grant writing, liaison to elected officials and the Native American community along with his wife and fellow Board Member Patricia Baker.  He has also been a generous donor.

At the dinner, Doug was presented with a special certificate of appreciation from Assemblyman Ken Cooley, and an announcement was made about plans to create a custom-made bench in his honor, to eventually be placed in front of his house along the trail.

The Board also elected Ellen Carlson to finish out Doug Baker’s term.  We are very pleased to have Ellen as a new member of the CVRTF family!

Below are images from the event, and the finished bench hand-crafted by CVRTF Board Member Nancy Myers.
